Hi, my name is Eli.
I integrate a background of dance, yoga, and martial arts into an embodied and intuitive approach to collaborative healing. Through massage, bodywork, and yoga, I strive to honor my clients' unique needs and to facilitate a healing relationship between you and your body. I hope to offer a space in which you feel heard and respected, and in which your body feels safe enough to let go. When we access states of deep relaxation, we give our nervous system the opportunity to rest, digest, recover, rebuild, and reset. Without these vital periods of rest, our overrun hormones keep us in a state of depletion, and we end up playing catch-up with an ever-growing list of health issues. My training is steeped in Thai massage, in which we approach the body as a whole, working methodically up and down energy pathways, trusting that the body, once freed from blocks (be they energetic or physical), will have the ability to self-correct. This is a radically different approach than traditional massage which often focuses on "chasing the pain" and in which the therapist is seen as responsible for the client's healing process. I aim to combine the humble and empowering nature of Thai with a clinical eye for a truly integrated approach, supporting you as we discover together what your body has to say. |

This foundational 200-hour training provided me with the tools to support you in developing a yoga practice appropriate for your body, age, and culture. Although this tradition of meditative movement united with breath originated in the far east, yoga is a non-denominational full-body prayer available to everyone. I offer instruction/guidance in: hatha (held poses), tantra (deeply meditative breath and movement), alignment, vinyasa (poses that flow together), pranayama (breath exercises), chanting, & kirtan (devotional song).

Mark summarizes his approach by saying, "If you can breathe, you can do yoga!" His teaching is that Yoga is not just a physical workout, a collection of information, or a "spiritual" quest toward a future, better version of ourselves; rather, it is each person's direct participation in the nurturing force of reality, appearing as you and everything else. He asks us, "How do we practice in ways that respect and recognize ourselves as the unique expression of life that we are?" and "What are the practical tools that can help us feel our own intrinsic joy, freedom, and authority?" The goal is simple: to make your practice entirely your own: pleasurable, powerful, safe, and efficient.

Thai Yoga is an ancient healing art: a fusion of Indian and Thai philosophies that has developed over the past 2,500 years. In a Thai Yoga practice, the practitioner guides the client through a series of yoga postures while palming and thumbing along the body’s energy (‘Sen’) lines and pressure points. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system, and balances the body energetically.
